ETYSA offers both scheduled classes and private lessons for adults 18 and up.
The Adult Learn to Sail class is perfect for absolute beginners, those who have limited sailing experience or anyone who did some sailing a long time and wants to “shake off the rust”. This class is all about learning how to rig, launch, and navigate a small sailboat with confidence.
The Adult Learn to Race / Racing 101 class is geared for those who have some, or even a lot, of sailing experience but are new to sailboat racing. Students taking this class will learn how enter, prepare for, and manage being in sailboat race or regatta.
Private lessons are also available. The cost of a private lesson is $50 per hour for the first student and $35 per hour for each additional person.
All classes and private lessons will be taught at Blackbeard Sailing Club using ETYSA’s fleet of O’Day Javelins. The Javelin is a 14ft dinghy with a main and jib.
