All items donated to ETYSA are tax deductible. We would love a donation of your unused boat to resell to support our club.

Let’s face it—many members of the Blackbeard Sailing Club are aging. Some of us are rapidly approaching the time when our thoughts turn to planning for the time when we will no longer sail. It is also a time when we reflect on what we love and what legacy we wish to leave behind.

The love of sailing is one legacy some may desire to instill in future generations. The nonprofit Edward Teach Youth Sailing Association (ETYSA) provides technical training to the sailors of the future and hopefully imbues them with the love of sport. The organization requires assets to continue its mission. Volunteers have worked hard to raise funds and we are fortunate that the local sailing community has supported our efforts, but more is needed for the sustainability of ETYSA.

You can help us pass along your love of sailing. We ask you to support ETYSA now and after you cross the bar. Here are some ways you might accomplish that:

 Will bequests

 Transfer of stocks or mutual funds

 Beneficiary designation gifts – ETYSA can be the beneficiary of a life insurance policy,

annuity, trust, IRA, or other legal contract

 Memorial or tribute contributions or gifts

 Endowments.

When you are considering a planned gift and/or bequest, please check with your attorney or financial adviser and make your desires/preferences known to your family. We hope that the close is like an elegant zephyr that billows the sail and gently moves you into another state of mind and spirit. And may there be no sadness of farewell when you embark knowing that you helped to ensure the future of a sport that you loved.
